We'd like to announce that the Laurel Ensemble is taking a sabbatical.

Since our founding in 2005, we've had 5 rewarding seasons playing many masterpieces written for mixed ensemble, spanning the ages from Bach and Couperin to Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, Bartok, Dohnanyi, Copland & Bernstein. 

We've also had the great pleasure of having 5 composers write works specifically for us, and of being invited to perform at the Musicarama Festival in Hong Kong in 2009.  Each season has been busier than the last!  Now each of us needs time to work on projects outside the ensemble. 

We'd like to thank all of you for your support---you've enriched us with your presence and made our musical lives very full.
